Education and Employment Projects

In Burma, approximately  28% of women and children are illiterate. 30 million people live in poverty in villages and towns. Over 35 million people live on less than $1 a day.

Following Cyclone Nargis that devastated the country in May 2008 and Cyclone Giri in 2010 and not least the many floods and earthquakes that have struck the land, many survivors continue to suffer from post-traumatic stress, emotionally, physically and mentally.

We would like to brighten their future by providing:

• Mobility equipment to people who are less able and have a physical disability.
• To non-profit organisations such as schools, community centres, libraries and prayer centres by assisting them to financially improve their facilities by providing necessary equipment and to help with travel expenses.
• To aid with mental development, we will provide newspapers, books, magazines and games.
• We will promote the importance of hygiene by creating awareness through courses and literature to get people up to speed with sanitation, bathing and all round cleanliness.
• We aim to teach children about health and safety issues including, but not limited to crossing  roads safely, bullying and how to cope with natural disasters.
• Establish the growth of small businesses such as grocery stores, confectionery stores and market stalls.
• To provide workplace equipment such as painting tools, plumbing tools, plastering equipment, fishing equipment, farming tools and welding equipment to improve their future possibilities for earning a decent wage.
• To provide essentials such as clothing, help with house repairs, food and utensils.
